Local Music Seen with Allen Estes - New Public Access Show on Cape Ann TV

Allen Estes and Peter Van Ness are producing a new 30 minute show on Cape Ann TV's public access channel 12 called Local Music Seen with Allen Estes.

For each show Allen interviews local singers/songwriters. Both he and they will perform on the show (4 songs per show on average). The show is taped before a live studio audience.

Allen and his guests talk about inspiration, songwriting, performance and offer advice to young musicians on how to break into the local music scene. The synergy of live music, a studio audience and insightful dialogue that delves into the creative process offers the viewer a compelling experience, full of music and inspiration.

Allen's first guest is co-producer Peter Van Ness. But the show is focused on Allen Estes. He sings 3 songs, two of which are not available on any CD -- and he performs Where'd They Go, the official song of the City of Gloucester. His last song That Ain't Me was first recorded at the Celebrate Gloucester concert on September 5th.

The original premiere, scheduled for December 1 at 6:30pm, was thwarted by a cape-wide blackout. You can see the premiere show on Friday, December 3rd at 1pm and Sunday, December 5th at 6pm. It will air again on Wednesday, December 8th at 6:30pm. Other showings will follow that week. You can see the schedule here.

New shows will air every two weeks. The second show will feature Gloucester legend Fly Amero and features duet performances with Allen Estes. Future shows feature Dan King and Chelsea Berry.

For more information, please visit the Local Music Seen Web site. You can also use the Website to sign up to be in the studio audience for future tapings.

This new show highlights the power Cape Ann TV's local access programming to showcase local artists and spark community involvement. The show is filmed at the Cape Ann TV studio and all crew (including camera, lights, sound and directing) are volunteers. We encourage anyone who wishes to produce a public access TV show to contact the Cape Ann TV office at (978) 281-2443. If you'd like to volunteer on a show please click here.
